University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) is discontinuing its 50/50 lottery, with the final draw set for March 2025. 

Since its inception in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the lottery has given participants the chance to win substantial prizes. However, UHKF leadership has decided that it is time to refocus resources on other high-impact fundraising initiatives. 

"The 50/50 lottery was a creative and effective way to generate support during a time when in-person fundraising wasn’t an option," said UHKF President and CEO Tom Zsolnay.  

[Kingston, ON] – On Feb. 26, 2025, Providence Care and University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) officials, local politicians, and community donors officially cut the ribbon and unveiled the name AB Smith Homestead House for Kingston’s first hospice.

Providence Care’s AB Smith Homestead House, located at 152 Phillips Street, fulfills a long-held community dream to expand end-of-life palliative care services in the region.

On Sept. 12, Kingston Lions Club members presented University Hospitals Kingston Foundation and Kingston Health Sciences Centre a $200,000 cheque going towards Ophthalmology and the Children’s Cancer Fund.
