Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Week will take place from April 28 to May 4. The iconic chocolate chunk cookies topped with a smile will be on sale for $2 and available at every participating Tim Hortons in Kingston.
This is the third year in a row that all Tim Hortons Kingston locations will be directing 100 per cent of the proceeds of Smile Cookie sales to Child and Youth Mental Health at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC).
"As a restaurant owner and a proud member of the Kingston community, I see firsthand how important it is to support our youth, especially when it comes to mental health. Teenagers today face so many pressures, and access to the right support can make all the difference,” says Tim Hortons restaurant owner Sherri Agnew. “The Smile Cookie campaign is our way of giving back, ensuring that every young person has a place to turn. When we invest in their well-being, we build a stronger, healthier future for everyone.”
The 2024 Smile Cookie campaign raised a total of $177,413 for youth mental health services at KHSC.
Nicholas Axas, program operational director, Mental Health and Addiction Care at KHSC, is grateful for the funding because demand for mental health services is high.
“Supporting youth mental health services provides kids in need with essential tools to build a solid foundation for a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life,” says Nicholas. “The demand is immense and securing funding for these vital programs is never easy, so I deeply appreciate Kingston-area Tim Hortons owners and community members for their generosity in helping local youth and their families access the mental health care they deserve.”
Tim Hortons restaurants across North America take part in the Smile Cookie campaign. Last year nearly $19.8 million was raised through the sales of Smile Cookies, supporting more than 600 charities and community groups.
