Join the team at Breast Imaging Kingston (BIK) for a fun-filled evening celebrating Galentine’s Day with your girls - it's time to connect, educate and prioritize your health!

- Cost: Free to attend, and receive mammograms (slots limited)
- Note: Attendees who do not pre-schedule a mammogram for the event will have the opportunity to book future-dated mammogram appointments in-person during the event.
Hosted by Dr. Doris Jabs, KHSC’s Rose of Hope Clinical Chair in Breast Health, this event welcomes women, Two-Spirit, trans and nonbinary individuals aged 40 and older to learn more about breast health in a social setting, and (if you choose to) have your mammogram exam completed during the event. The event will include:
- Supportive atmosphere
- Opportunity to ask questions and learn
- Games and prizes
- Mammogram appointment slots available during the event for those who wish
Light refreshments, door prize giveaways, meaningful conversation, and a positive, judgment-free space round out this Galentine’s celebration where there is no pressure, just information and support at your own pace. Whether you’re due for a mammogram or simply want to connect with experts and fellow attendees, YOU decide how you participate when you RSVP.

Frequently Asked Questions
At what age do I qualify for breast screening?
The Ontario Breast Screening Program offers breast screening to women, Two-Spirit people, trans people and nonbinary people ages 40 to 74.
Besides age, are there other qualifications for breast screening?
Individuals who have no breast cancer symptoms, no personal history of breast cancer, not had a mastectomy, and not had a screening mammogram within the last 11 months. Individuals who are transfeminine, qualify if having used feminizing hormones for at least 5 years in a row.
I want to request a screening but I'm not sure if I qualify.

How long does the appointment take?
A mammogram exam is very quick. From the time you get changed to completing your exam, you can expect approximately 20 minutes or less.
I'm not ready for a mammogram--can I still attend?
Absolutely! The event is designed to be a supportive, low-pressure space where you can learn about breast health, ask questions, and connect with others. There’s no obligation to book or have a mammogram—you’re welcome to just come, listen, and take part in the experience at your own pace.
