Starting the week of November 18, 2024, University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) canvassers will be visiting neighbourhoods throughout Kingston to introduce community members to the impact of monthly donations. These donations, which support Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and Providence Care, help save lives and improve health outcomes for the entire community.
The door-to-door campaign will run for several weeks.

We’ve partnered with GlobalFaces Direct to assist UHKF in connecting with community members face-to-face in a genuine manner, while being fully compliant with Imagine Canada’s ethical fundraising standards.
Their fundraisers are trained professionals who understand the power of a one-to-one conversation.
To process donations, canvassers will use tablets with encrypted software to collect personal and financial information in a secure manner.

Why is UHKF doing door-to-door fundraising?
Door-to-door fundraising is one of the most effective and personal ways we can reach out to prospective donors and share how donor generosity is transforming health care one gift at a time.

How do I know if I am talking to a real fundraiser from UHKF?
All official UHKF fundraisers will have identification badges. If unsure, you can always contact our team at Toll-Free Number: 855 752 3101 to verify.

Is it safe to give my personal and financial information to the fundraisers at my door?
Yes, our door-to-door fundraisers will use tablets with encrypted software to collect personal information in a secure way. All the data we collect is immediately uploaded to our remote servers, processed, and then completely removed from the tablet. Once processed, financial data is further encrypted according to Payment Compliance Industry (PCI) Standards.

Will I receive a tax receipt if I donate?
Tax Receipts will be issued in compliance with the requirements of the Income Tax Act. Receipts for income tax purposes will be issued for all online gifts, all cash and cash equivalent gifts of $20 or more or upon request from the donor. Receipts will be issued for the fair market value of the gift less any advantages received by the donor.
