Who are The Portuguese Kids?

Lighthearted, relatable, and culturally driven, The Portuguese Kids celebrate their unique heritage while connecting with audiences through humour and nostalgia. The Portuguese Kids creators Brian Martins and Derrick DeMelo were born and raised in Fall River — a true Portuguese mecca — and draw inspiration from their upbringing for their live comedy shows, musical parodies, and viral videos.

Their distinct brand of ethnic humour has earned them a devoted global fanbase, with millions of views across social media platforms. The duo has toured throughout the Lusophone world, performing for audiences both large and small.

Catch them live in their latest production, No Recipe Needed! — a high-energy comedy experience that blends Whose Line Is It Anyway? style improv with The Portuguese Kids’ signature cultural twist.

About the Kingston Portuguese Community

Wedged between Montreal and Toronto, Kingston is a city full of Portuguese who leave visible marks on the physical structure of the city. The building that houses the Portuguese Cultural Centre, located between Highway 401 and downtown, is a perfect example.

The organization was founded by 24 people in 1983, and was incorporated two years later.
