UHKF’s lifeCYCLE event returning to Wolfe Island

August 18, on scenic Wolfe Island, cyclists will have the opportunity to enjoy a non-competitive ride in support of Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care. There are three route options; 102 km, 52 km or 24km. From first-time cyclist to avid cyclists, and families – everyone is welcome!

Routes will include check points which are complete with refreshments and bike support. We will have plenty of support vehicles and volunteers to help you complete the ride. You’ll be able to end the ride with a well-deserved afternoon BBQ! To register, visit uhkf.ca/events/lifecycle. August 11 is the last day to register.

Each participant is encouraged to ask their fellow cyclists, families and friends to join or for pledges to meet your fundraising goal.

“I have never participated in a fundraising event before but when I saw last year’s lifeCYCLE event, I thought if I was going to do any event, this would be the best one for me. I’m a cycling enthusiast, and I think the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation is the best cause to raise money for. To me, our local health care is something that everyone will need at some point in their lives. The quality of our facilities and the quality of care touches everyone. I sent emails to friends and colleagues to solicit their support and I received a great response! I’m looking forward to an even bigger level of support for this year’s event. “ – Shawn Geary, lifeCYCLE 2017 participant.

Last year, $32,682 was raised which was made possible by lifeCYCLE participants and pledged gifts. By participating in UHKF’s lifeCYCLE event, you will help fund patient-centred health care, new equipment and facilities, and to spark discovery through patient-oriented research, finding new ways to diagnose disease, new treatments and approaches to transforming the patient and family experience. You will be helping to improve lives with innovative inpatient, ambulatory and specialized care at our hospitals, to educate and train the healthcare providers of tomorrow and to ensure extraordinary people have the opportunity to deliver the best care possible.
