Kyla Tozer, Neuro Race Weekend organizer, announced the proceeds from her event – Neuro Race Weekend. Through the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation, this gift will support the Neurosurgery Department at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC). This year, the event raised $31,110.38.
This is the second annual Neuro Race Weekend where more than 600 participated, raising funds in support of the Neurosurgery Department at KHSC. Through this community event, Kyla is not only able to raise funds in support of the program but is raising awareness about life after a major brain injury.
“Two years ago I channeled my love of running into the creation of an event for the community, Chase A Dream, which raised funds for the Neurosurgery Department at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre,” says Kyla Tozer, Neuro Race Weekend organizer. “Today, we were proud to present $31,110.38 to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation for the Neurosurgery Department. I am extremely proud that we have raised so much, and we thank the community of runners and walkers that make this event such a tremendous success.”
Kyla’s drive inspires her supporters and will have an incredible impact on patients who will benefit from the specialized care from the neurosurgery team at KHSC.
“It continues to be a big inspiration to us that Kyla, her mother, Dolores, family and committee have created this event that receives incredible support from runners, walkers, school groups, volunteers, and many generous sponsors. Thank you.” – Lori Faggiani, Director Annual Appeal, University Hospitals Kingston Foundation
