Bio

Sandy is a Professor of Digital Technology (Information Systems) in the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Guelph, while his MBA and PhD in Management are from the University of Western Ontario. Upon completion of his PhD, Sandy worked at the University of Melbourne in Australia for two years, and then joined Queen’s in 1998. His research and teaching areas include working in teams, managing projects, knowledge management, and designing and implementing information systems. In addition to his regular teaching, research and service responsibilities over the years, Sandy served as the Associate Dean, (Faculty) at Smith from 2021 to 2024.

Sandy and his wife Patti have been proud to call Kingston their home for over 25 years and have enjoyed raising their children in Kingston (and now watching their grandchildren grow up in this great area). Patti is a retired Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in heart failure. 

Sandy has been a member of the UHKF board since 2019 and has served on various committees including the Governance and Policy Committee, the Investment Committee, and the Human Resources Committee. As of 2025, Sandy serves as Treasurer on UHKF's Board of Directors.
