Lifesaving Equipment purchased using lottery funds

Staff Lottery Winner

Rachelle is one of the many winners of the Kingston hospitals Staff Lottery!

We love delivering big cheques to the winners of the staff lottery, but it’s even better when the funds raised by staff lottery participants are put towards patient care in the Kingston hospitals.

Hotel Dieu Hospital site recently purchased two new defibrillators using funds raised by lottery participants. In the event of a cardiac arrest, these defibrillators are essential to providing critical care needed for the patient. Just ask Martin, a patient who needed two defibrillators to revive him during a heart attack last May.

Since its inception, the staff lottery has raised over $500,000. Other items that the staff lottery has funded at Kingston Health Sciences Centre include patient care equipment like Hi-Lo Beds, monitors, stretchers, and scopes.

Nearly 1,400 hospital staff members are currently enrolled in the staff lottery. Click here to see pictures of past winners or to sign up for your chance to win!
