On Saturday, September 30th, staff from across Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care will join forces and participate in the third annual We Walk in support of the Patient Comfort and Care fund.
“The South East Regional Cancer Program looks forward to We Walk every year,” says Matthew Del Grosso, a member of ‘Team Brenda’s Bunch.’ “It’s the charitable cause that we support together as a department and have a lot of fun along the way. We all contribute, whether it’s soliciting corporate support, baking for a bake sale or calling on personal connections to help us raise these important funds.”
Prior to the inaugural We Walk, UHKF asked participants which area of care they would like to support. Patient comfort and
care was a clear choice for the group, who see first-hand the difference that these funds have on the patients and families they care for. The money raised by We Walk is used for a range of comfort and care items like stocking compassion carts within the hospital, providing assistance to patients who may be in need of care equipment rental, or even helping with emergency accommodation.
“The team knows the help and value that the Patient Care and Comfort Fund gives to patients and their families. We are happy to give time, effort and funds to this particular cause,” said Matthew.
